Ladies Millenium Triples.

The Ladies
Millenium Triples were held on Sunday 25th July. There was a
good turnout for this annual charity event where everyone brings
a dish towards the buffet - and what a spread there was! The
Ladies had an enjoyable day, the weather was kind and most of
all, £155.00 was raised from the raffle and auction. This
year, the money will go to Strathcarron. The winners of the
triples were, Jan Stewart, Margaret Crossan and Ellen Thomson.
Well done!
Club
Mixed Triples - Sunday 1st August.
The
Club Mixed Triples was played out between 16 Teams on Sunday
in what turned out to be almost Tropical conditions. After slapping
on the suncream for the early games, a Monsoon eventually got
the better of the Green and the Teams during the last section
games and play was abandoned.
The
scores were taken on the first four games and the current score
of the abandoned match and the section winners were George Leamy,
Helen Leamy and Jackie MacLean; Chrissie Anderson, May Sim and
Jimmy Carroll; Graeme Elliott, Jane Elliott and Valerie Watterson
with Willie Carmichael, Graeme Carmichael and Mags Butler being
the highest up fourth Triple.
The
Semi-Finals will be played between now and finals day, with
the Final being scheduled during the Club Finals.
Thanks
to the Ladies in the kitchen - lovely Sausages.
Tom
Myler Trophy - Sunday 11th July.
For
only the Third time since its Inception, The Gents travelled
to Clackmannan on Sunday and returned victorious in this, the
Friendliest of Competitive games.

As
usual, Joan ( seen presenting the Trophy ) was there to support
the event and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and the outstanding
hospitality.
Our
thanks go to everyone at Clackmannan Bowling Club
Alex
Rennie Mixed Pairs.
Yet
another fine day saw 20 Teams of Bowlers turn out to contest
the Rennie Trophy.
After
5 games each the section winners were: Margaret Robb & Jack
Heron, Drew Parker & Angela Marshall, Davie Jones &
Christine Laverty and Liz Parker & Graeme Elliott.

Two
closely contested Semi-Finals saw Margaret Robb & Jack Heron
meet Davie Jones and Christine Laverty in the Final, with Margaret
and Jack eventually running out worthy winners.
Despite
George Leamy being the harbinger of doom, the rain stayed away
and everyone enjoyed a great days Bowling.
Once
again, thanks to the Ladies who found time to play Bowls and
prepare the food.
Club
Mixed Pairs Competition - 23/05/10.
The
Mixed Pairs Competition was played out between 4 Sections of
Bowlers on Sunday 23/05/10 with the teams doing their best to
cope with brilliant sunshine, scorching temperatures and Greens
that got faster and faster as the day wore on.
The
eventual section Winners were Jack and Irene Heron, Sandra and
Alan Pate, Frank Butler and Margaret Hunter and Jane and Graeme
Elliott.

The
Final was a closely contested affair between Sandra & Alan
and Jane & Graeme, with Sandra and Alan eventually running
out worthy winners.

A
superb day was had by all, with everyone enjoying the weather,
even if some of the headgear was a bit unusual.

Balloted
Mixed Rinks.
The
Balloted Mixed Rinks got the Seasons Competitions underway in
fine style, with a large turnout playing off the sections.
Winners
of Section A were: Duncan McMillan, Andy Crossan and Liz Parker,
with the Runners-up being: Raymond Smith, George Leamy, Rita
Hunter and Mags Butler.

The

Anderson showed a level of consistency throughout the section
games that was unmatched by anyone else - I'll leave you to
draw your own conclusions.
The
Semi-Finals and Finals of the Balloted Mixed Rinks were played
off on Wednesday 28th April with two very close and competitive
Semi-Finals only being decided after three burnt ends and a
number of "wickies".
Again,
a very competitive Final was finally decided in favour of the
winning Rink of George Leamy, Raymond Smith, Mags Butler and
Rita Hunter, with the Runners-up being Jack Heron, Arthur Critchel,
Irene Heron and Morag Anderson.
Thanks
to everyone who helped organise the games over both days.
