Lady
Past Presidents versus 6 Clubs.
The
Ladies had an enjoyable if slightly wet day at their Annual
Event, but it certainly didn't stop them from having a great
day with some old friends.

Gents
Past Presidents versus 6 Clubs: Saturday 26th June.
Friends
old & new gathered for this Annual event with the 6 visiting
Clubs managing to win the day on shots.

Among
the visitors helping us to celebrate our 25th Anniversary was
one of Glasgows oldest Clubs in Willowbank, currently celebrating
their 175th Anniversary. The visit of Willowbank also saw the
return to Abronhill of one of our original members in the shape
of John Moug.

The
Past presidents handed over the proceeds of the Raffle, Highest
up Rink and donations to Kenny Fishers rendering ( or was that
murdering ) of I'm nobodys Child, swelling the total of the
Strathcarron Fund to £1,583.00.
Thanks
to the Ladies who worked in the Kitchen and to the Past Presidents
for organising the event.
Past
Presidents Mixed Triples - Sunday 13/06/10.
A
superb Day was enjoyed by 20 Teams of Triples battling it out
for the Money Prizes in this Annual event.

Although
Bowls took priority, all those taking part didn't forget Strathcarron
and raised £207.00 through a Raffle and Auction ( won
by a beaming George Leamy.) helping the fund to a running total
of £1,072.70p.
The
section winners were Morag Anderson, Jan Stewart and Duncan
McMillan, Pat Cross, Frank Butler and Jean Cross, Jimmy McNeill,
Moira Rennie and John Logie with Section D being won by Helen
Leamy, Jackie McLean and George Leamy.
The
Teams skipped by George Leamy and Duncan McMillan won through
to contest a superb Final with George, Helen and Jackie eventually
running out deserved winners.

Glasgow
Ex-Presidents versus Abronhill.
Tuesday
11th May saw the Glasgow Ex-Presidents Association send out
a team to play Abronhill as part of our 25th Anniversary Celebrations.

The
Ladies kindly stepped down from their normal Tuesday evening
play and laid on a lovely meal for all 6 Rinks. The
Glasgow Ex-Presidents eventually won out in the overall scores
and, to be honest, we just wish some of the Ladies had come
down to give us a help.
Ladies
versus Gents.

Despite
words of wisdom and encouragement from Kenny, the Pig remains
in the safekeeping of the Gents Section for another year. The
Ladies put up a creditable performance only losing by 75 shots
to 65.
More
importantly however, a great day was had by all.
